Calf Rearing
At Longstone Farm Partnership we have over 20 years experience of calf rearing with all calves reared on our holding.
In recent years we have changed our approach, now only buying privately, from selected farms.
This in turn gives us a consistent supply of quality calves from clean herds, minimising disease and stress.

The weaning process starts by reducing the milk intake gradually, until we are happy the calves are consuming enough concentrate.
This is achieved by intake and not age of calf. |

170kg ONWARDS |

Calves now go onto 4 kgs a day concentrate, reducing as they get stronger, but concentrate always forms part of their diet.
Fresh forage always available. |
We believe excellent husbandry in a stress free environment, produces a strong, healthy calf with good growth rates. |
